Juvenes Oy serves approximately 11,000 students and 4,000 staff diners daily across Finland. Managing such a large customer base requires efficient and user-friendly solutions – especially for payments. In this development, Winpos has been a key partner. – We operate around 40 self-service checkouts in 24 different restaurants and cafés. We monitor their usage by comparing sales with the restaurant’s total turnover and analyzing receipt volumes and user numbers on-site, says Oskari Uuppo, System and Product Management Specialist at Juvenes.

Students Identify Themselves via Tuudo App

Self-service checkouts have received mostly positive feedback from students, many of whom find the payment process faster.
Identification is done through the Tuudo student app: the student opens the app, scans their QR code, selects a lunch option, and pays. – Payment methods are becoming increasingly digital, and the younger generation is leading this change. The payment process must be faster and easier than ever, Uuppo explains.

Digital Receipts Replace Paper

Juvenes is introducing ReceiptHero, a Finnish service for digital receipts, helping both businesses and customers transition from paper to electronic receipts. – As payments become more digital, it’s natural for receipts to go online. Sustainability is a core value for Juvenes, and by switching to digital receipts we reduce paper use and promote environmentally friendly practices, Uuppo adds.

Student dining remains at the heart of Juvenes’ operations, but the company is actively exploring opportunities to expand into new sectors. Checkout functions are continuously improved to make transactions as smooth as possible.
