The most popular lunch restaurant in Vaasa relies on the Winpos POS system
Mama’s Kitchen is one of the busiest lunch spots in Vaasa. Last year it was voted the best lunch restaurant in Vaasa.
Mama’s Kitchen is located in the Vaasa City Theater and also takes care of the theater’s interim catering.
On weekdays Mama’s Kitchen serves traditional home-cooked meals. Additionally, in the evening during theater performances, the restaurant offers à la carte dishes for groups, as well as interim catering for the theater visitors
The restaurant has been a Winpos customer for two years, and the collaboration has worked well. Restaurant owner Petri Kangasoja is particularly pleased with the excellent service provided by Winpos. – Our collaboration with Winpos has gone smoothly. Help has always been available whenever needed. The service is top-notch, and when required, it has been provided quickly and even on-site.
-We have many new extra employees, and it is important for us that the use of the cash register is learned quickly. Using Winpos is easy, and even during the busiest times, the staff have not had any issues with the system, says Kangasoja and continues: – We are one of the busiest lunch places in downtown Vaasa. We have 140 seats, and especially on Thursdays, when we have pea soup and pancake day, the restaurant tends to be packed. At its peak, we have had up to 450 lunch guests on Thursdays. During the busiest times, a mobile POS terminal is brought into use.
-We have always received good service, and the POS system is fast and user-friendly. Winpos is excellent for the restaurant business, he states.
-We handle the theater’s interim catering from September to May. During that time, there are also many dining groups before and after performances, as well as Christmas parties and other events, such as weddings and birthdays. We try to encourage customers to book and pay for their interim catering in advance on the Netticket website, which helps us avoid congestion during the actual intermission, says Kangasoja, adding that customers have indeed learned to do this quite well. During intermissions, Mama’s Kitchen has three sales points in use: two at the bars and a third mobile POS terminal.
-The sales tracking features in Winpos are comprehensive. We utilize reports extensively in our business. It is interesting to monitor, for example, the best-selling items. In 2024, we sold 1,600 pieces of the theater’s sea buckthorn pastry, for instance. Additionally, we can easily send data to our accountant, as well as notifications regarding alcohol to the authorities.
Petri Kangasoja warmly recommends Winpos to other restaurants. – We have always received good service, and the POS system is fast and user-friendly. Winpos is excellent for the restaurant business, he states.
